| 課程簡介與目標 |

| 本課程的主要目標是要培養同學成為數位公民(digital citizenship)所應具備「善用資訊工具來分析與解決問題」的能力,包括熟悉基本數位工具的使用,以及利用這些數位工具解決問題時,應該有的「態度」與「技能」。其中,「態度」是指面對問題時,要能夠辨別哪些部分是算得出來的(computable),哪些又屬於算不出來的(non-computable),並能夠善用數位工具來解決算得出來的問題。「技能」則是指在解決各種領域問題時,經常會使用到的觀念與技巧,包括抽象化(abstraction)、樣式識別(pattern recognition)、拆解(decomposition)與演算法設計(algorithm design)等,並以系統性的思考方式來分析與解決問題。此外,視覺化程式設計(visual programming)提供直覺式的程式設計方式,讓所有同學(不論是否為資訊相關系所)可以不受專業程式語言的束縛,而在輕鬆有趣的環境中,演練上述運算思維的各種觀念並建立正確的邏輯思考模式。 運算思維的培養,可以讓同學以系統性思考的方式來分析各種問題,提出合乎邏輯的解決方案,並透過各種數位工具的使用,有效地加以解決。運算思維也可應用到各個不同領域的學習,例如文學、藝術與體育等非工程的領域。因此,不分年紀與性別,所有不同背景(科系)的同學,都非常適合學習運算思維;對於資訊相關科系的同學而言,運算思維對於資訊專業的學習,助益更為顯著。 |

| The goal of this course is to teach students to become digital citizens and to develop logical thinking skills so that they can learn problem-solving strategies, steps, and processes and can make good use of information tools to implement problem-solving practices. Learning computational thinking helps to understand how computers work, that is, how computers "think" and execute instructions. Not only is it helpful to computer science majors, it can also be applied to different disciplines, including literature, arts, sports and other non-computer science fields. After completing this course, students will: 1. get familiar with basic application software, 2. develop system thinking, and 3. be able to analyze a problem, find the core issue, and adopt appropriate methods or effectively use technology to solve the problem. |

| 本課程的授課內容包括三大部分:「應用資訊工具」、「培養核心能力」與「解決實務問題」,茲分述如下。 1.應用資訊工具:電腦簡報是學習與職場上最常見的應用之一,簡報者必須先了解簡報之目的、場地(包括時間、硬體配備等)與聽眾背景,並對報告內容進行分析、整理,重點摘要後製作成投影片,然後進行簡報。一個成功、完整的電腦簡報是許多能力的綜合應用與呈現,甚至包含口才、台風與臨場反應等。因此,投影片的製作可以說是應用最為廣泛的基本資訊工具。 投影片製作的基本技巧包括:投影片的製作(管理與維護)、實際進行簡報的操作環境及基本設定投影片基本操作技能、投影片設計與動畫技能、物件的插入與編輯技能、母片與範本應用、多媒體內容編輯等。至於,整體的電腦簡報注意事項,可以併入「問題解決實務」一起演練之。 2.培養核心能力:運算思維的四大核心觀念分別是抽象化、樣式識別、拆解與演算法設計。同學不但要了解每一個觀念的意義,更要知道如何應用在日常生活中。 a)抽象化:是指看待一個事物的不同層次,層次越高越抽象,代表的是越多其他事物共同的特性或描述;層次越低則越不抽象(也就是越具體),代表的是該事物獨有的特性。抽象化讓同學可以用更精簡扼要的方式,來看待或描述事物。 b)樣式識別:是指找出一個或相關事物重複發生的規律性,可用物體的辨識或簡化事件的描述,甚至是預測未來發生的狀況,也可用於學習–學習/模仿成功的經驗,不要重複失敗的經驗。 c)拆解:是指將一個比較大的問題,拆解成許多比較容易解決的小問題,最後再將這些小問題的答案整合在一起,成為完整的解答;拆解其實就是一種分工合作,不但更具效率,也可收專業之效。拆解也是學習上常用的技巧,先學習許多局部的技能(小問題的解答),最後再將這些局部技能加以連貫,成為完成的技能。 d)演算法設計:是指以上述核心觀念為基礎,設計一連串的步驟(指令),用來解決特定的問題,並強化同學的邏輯思考能力。本課程是以視覺化程式設計為主,讓不同背景的同學都可以輕鬆上手,並輔以實體教具(例如光環版)來增加趣味與強化學習動機。 3.解決實務問題:設計共通性或符合院系特色之各種問題,以問題導向學習(problem-based learning)的方式,引導學生發揮運算思維之「態度」與「技能」,提出完整的解決方案,甚至實作出來。所設計的問題,可能橫跨多個科目或專業領域之應用,而解決方案則以包含資訊工具的使用為佳。 a)共通性的問題:以評論文章之撰寫為例,我們可以先透過拆解技巧,依人、事、時、地、物等不同面向,蒐集並了解該主題相關的內容;而資料蒐集過程可能使用到的資訊工具,包括各種電子資源的利用,例如網頁關鍵字搜尋(Google)、電子期刊等。至於,文章的撰寫,則可以應用「樣式識別」的技巧,以「起、承、轉、合」作為文章架構的參考。 b)符合院系特色之問題:以「如何算出農田中有多少顆西瓜?」為例,我們可以先以拆解觀念,透過空拍機取得多張局部農田的俯視圖,再透過現成之軟體拼裝成一張大圖。然後,利用既有的細胞計數軟體,便可有所依據的算出西瓜的數量,而不再只是憑空推測與想像。 任課老師可依系所之特性,設計各種不同難度之問題,供學生分組討論並提出可行之解決方式,甚至真正實作出來。 |

| The contents of this course include three parts: basic application software, logical thinking training, and problem-solving practice, which are described below. First, the basic application software will focus on the production of slides commonly used in classrooms and workplaces, including creating presentation materials and presentation skills, editing and beautifying slides and customizing slide playing, designing master slides, and integrating with other software. Second, logical thinking training centered on visual programming and aided by physical teaching tools (such as the Halocode) for students of different majors to easily get started and strengthen their learning motivation to nurture system thinking, including decomposition, pattern recognition, abstraction, and algorithm. Third, the problem-solving practice is based on problem-based learning in which students are guided to exert their computational thinking ability, propose comprehensive solutions, and ultimately undertake the practice. The problem for students to solve can be a common problem across different fields or a problem that conforms to the characteristics of the college or department. |
